If you can get these two things, Burroughs could be just the refreshing voice in American books today, and his collection of acerbic essays will you laugh out loud even while cringing in your seat. He pulled on the fingers of small children or give you the blow-by-blow on a very unholy act, Burroughs manages to do so in a manner that meets the fans in conflict with both horror and delight. Ranging from the surprisingly Machiavellian view of its role in a commercial seaweed at the age of seven in his recent trip to the dog ownership Burroughs has what seems an inexhaustible source of offbeat life experiences. As with other collections of David Sedaris (Barrel Fever or Naked), there is loss of consciousness and begins in the flow of writing, but ultimately deserved magical thinking to read (and read). If you are with the memories of Burroughs, Running with Scissors and Dry, you can repetitive parts of magical thinking, as these tests bouncing in time between the other two.
