Nicolas frank voice is full of childish repetitions and exclamations ("fantastic!"). This book is not known for its plot. The stories are simple, for Nicolas antics as he and his parents travel to the sea and when he goes to his camp the first night. What distinguishes this title is a story that captures a child so believable and allows the reader also refer to the action, but sometimes even what to see Nicolas shows. Illustrations by Sempe cartoon appear charming whole tone and strengthen. The strength of the voice, layered humor, short chapters and the episodic nature of the text by Nicolas ideal family vacation or reading aloud in class.
